Job Description:
ITS Infrastructure Applications is a part of the central IT organization for the University of Virginia. Focus areas for this group include central Identity Management, Public Key Infrastructure, University email solutions, and authentication and authorization in support of access controls for the University Network. The Programmer Analyst III will perform software maintenance and implement new features for existing production systems; research and troubleshoot system anomalies; and perform transactions in support of routine service requests. In particular, this contract position is being hired to complete modifications to UVa's Network Setup Tool for the Mac OS. The needed modifications (which are relatively minor) will likely be completed early in this tenure, but the new Mac OS version which is anticipated later in the summer will require additional testing and this position will be responsible for any changes needed to make the tool function properly on the new OS version as well. When not occupied with development work related to this tool, additional programming and/or service support tasks will be assigned as appropriate.
Required Skills:
Significant experience with Xcode development for Mac OS
Working knowledge of Unix and preferably basic System Administrator knowledge of Linux
Additional Preferred Skills:
Web interface programming experience
PERL programming experience
JAVA programming experience
Mysql/database programming
