JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

Title: ETL Tester

Duration: 12 months

Location: Oak Brook, IL

Interview: Telephone + Skype

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•             Work directly with the team of testing specialists on assigned projects.

•             Determine, Prepare and Maintain the Test strategy, test design, test cases, and traceability for the BI and ETL solutions under test.

•             Work with the BI and ETL teams closely to progress the testing toward realistic achievable milestones.

•             Responsible for testing of business intelligence reporting solutions developed using SQL / T-SQL and Reporting Services.

•             Responsible for testing of the ETL solutions developed using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) 2005 / 2008 and SQL / T-SQL.

•             Develop and maintain the manual and automated test scripts, functions / SQL code.

•             Develop complex SQL queries using querying tools and SQL/T-SQL and relational database manipulation.

•             Responsible for the full life-cycle of the test phase of a project from its kick off until delivery and readiness to be deployed to Production

•             Perform test task estimation, test execution, Regression testing, Functional testing, automated testing where possible.

•             Execute the testing of ETL Processes and BI reporting.

•             Escalate information as deemed necessary and provide regular status reports on the same.

•             Perform as an integral member of the QA team, resourcing to the BI and ETL projects.

 REQUIRED SKILLS

•             4 + years of experience testing business intelligence solutions and related components

•             Expert in the Test definition, test design, test documentation, test execution, test coverage traceability and the test process.

•             Strong experience with MS SQL server databases and Financials

•             Knowledge of architectural tool components, dashboards

•             Skills in data warehouse methodology; data analysis, modeling and design; and ETL testing using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) 2005/2008.

•             Knowledge of relational and dimensional data models, as well as relational databases and excellent SQL skills.

•             Understanding of data rollups/aggregation, capacity planning, data standardization, slowly changing dimensions and data security

•             Ability to design and execute test scripts and plans for unit, integration, regression and UAT testing processes

•             Good skill distribution between Manual and Automated test preparation and execution is required.

•             Excellent Documentation skills from a technical and Analytical set of documentation scope related to the testing team and its efforts.

•             Experience working with Agile Project Management tools, Mingle or similar.
