Position: Oracle DBA

Location: 1000, Harbor Boulevard, Weehawken NJ
Duration: 6+ months

Desired Candidate Profile :

·         Provide 24x7 Support and willing to work in shifts

·         Provide on-call support on a need basis during weekends and holidays

·         ITIL/ ITSM Certified professionals

Key Responsibilities / Role: Duties include, but are not limited to:

·         Supporting production environments at application database layer as level 2 support for banking applications

·         Resolve day-to-day support issues/incidents raised by business users, ensuring effective and timely resolution

·         Providing support to business users for their requests and queries related to the application databases that are in the support scope

·         Actively participate in incident and problem management tasks and follow-up with the stakeholders till closure

·         Ensure the availability of the application database as per the business requirement and raise all capacity related issues to the concerned stakeholders and bringing to closure

·         Actively participate in change, release and deployment process areas with respect to various applications

·         Ensuring that storage, archiving, back-up and recovery procedures are functioning correctly

·         Regular monitoring of database instances and database servers, publishing daily sanity check / health-check report to concerned distribution groups and fix the issues whenever required

·         Performing the schema refreshes with traditional export and import and data pump utilities

·         Prepare and maintain technical documentation

Experience

Should have worked as a DBA for Oracle in production environments for 3-5 years with a good exposure to ITIL aligned process areas is required

Education

·         BE or B.Sc or MCA or M.Sc

Skills:

·         Should have good experience on Oracle, Database administration

·         Assist in monitoring and maintenance of databases, installation of database software patches/upgrades in Unix environment and standardization

·         Experience on handling production databases in Unix environment

·         Manage the database instances, table-space management, user management and troubleshooting object level issues.

·         Knowledge on performance tuning of database

·         Performing the schema refreshes with traditional export and import and data pump utilities

·         Knowledge on RMAN utility

·         Hands on experience on cloning of databases.

·         Hands on experience on databases restorations and recoveries.

·         Knowledge on RAC installation and maintenance.

·         Hands on experience on Stats pack, AWR report analysis.

·         Knowledge in writing Unix shell scripts and Perl scripts

·         Should possess good verbal and written communication skills and be customer service orientated.

·         Good understanding of ITIL processes and Production support experience
