Position : Ab Intiio Developer
Location : Arlington VA or Pittsburgh, PA
Duration : 12 Months
Responsibilities
The position is for an experienced ETL coder, specifically within the Ab Initio environment. The individual will be responsible for the translation of requirements, business rules, and SQL into Ab Initio graphs. This individual will also participate in the writing of the detailed specs, conducting project meetings, performing production support activities, and mentoring of other developers new to the Ab Initio environment. The position also requires contributing to Ab Initio standards & best practices. Experience with EME including the check in/check out of modules is highly desirable. Understanding of data warehousing fundamentals is required.
• Extensive application development experience with Ab Initio tool.
• Competent with UNIX shell scripting.
• Ability to work within a team/matrixed environment
• Ability to develop and adhere to ETL coding standards.
• Willingness to perform Ab Initio production support duties on a rotating basis
• Ability to gather requirements and develop business rules and write detail specifications.
Qualifications
• ETL design and implementation for at least 2 years (Required)
• Analytical skills & proficiency developing business rules (Required)
• UNIX korn shell scripting for at least 2 years (Required)
• Experience in C/C++, COBOL
• Experience with Oracle/DB2/Teradata (Required)
• Experience writing SQL (Required)
• Minimum of 2 years experience hands on coding with Ab Initio (Required)
• Experience with Informatica/Mercator/Data Stage is a plus
• Working knowledge of parameterizing Ab Initio graphs (Required)
• Experience in EME
• Ability to work with the data modelers/QA team
• Full understanding of SDLC
EDUCATION:
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Preferred or equivalent work experience.
• Travel industry experience preferred
