Position: ETL Data Architect
Location: Chicago, IL.
Duration: 6+ Month On-Site contract plus extension

Job Description:
• Senior level Data/ETL Architect with proven expertise and experience in designing enterprise level data integration architectures, including data warehouse applications.
• Serve as a Subject Mater Expert on ETL architectures using the latest versions of enterprise class ETL platforms (e.g., Ab Initio) and components. Review, assess and offer recommendations for improvement to an existing enterprise class ETL architecture.
• Establish standards for data sourcing, integration and provisioning at an enterprise level, complex data environment. Assist with best practice approaches to data mapping and architectural standards for security, audit and reconciliation. Assists with data modeling, planning, designing and implementing a high quality production environment.
• Lead data warehouse design, implement the overall data architecture strategy, develop best practice coding, design and test standards based on the latest product capabilities.
• Architect overall BI/data warehouse & data integration solutions (e.g., ETL process, ODS, EDW).
• Perform data analysis & data profiling of source/target systems.
• Develop logical data model (LDM) & physical data model (PDM) for EDW.
• Design with performance in mind. Deliver scalable solutions for high volume data processing.
• Ensure quality and integrity of all operational processes. Document all processes.

Primary Technical / Business Skills:
• Proven ability to architect/design/process 10-20TB data structures.
• 10+ years IT experience architecting and designing data acquisition and integration processes
• Experience with advanced replication, parallelism, cache and performance oriented ETL techniques.
• Experience developing ETL for data warehouse environments.
• 5+ years working with MYSQL, Oracle , DB2, MS SQL Server, etc
• 10+ years working with data management solutions including: Data Marts, Data Warehouses, and Operational Data Stores.
• 8+ years of experience using best in class ETL products and solutions, and architecting solutions leveraging the most current versions of these products
• Experience in formal Metadata management and data governance.
• Demonstrated experience in programming using Perl, PHP, C, C++, Java, Java Script
• Must be self-motivated and possess excellent problem solving capabilities.
• Must be able to handle and achieve completion on multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Demonstrated experience working in a consulting role, preferably for a large consultancy working with Fortune 500 clients. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or another technical field of study. An MBA is a plus.

Position: DB2 DBA
Location: Chicago, IL.

Job Description:
• 5 years of experience (minimum) as a database administrator with DB2 UDB Data Warehouse Enterprise Edition within an AIX operating environment.
• Provide primary DBA design and support services for establishing, upgrading and maintaining the DB2 UDB Data Warehouse environments.
• Experience with DB2 DPF desirable.
• Implement backup and recovery procedures for DB2 UDB Data Warehouse databases and test regularly in conjunction with Operations.
• In conjunction with the network security administrator, establish and manage user access, and design and implement security architecture.
• Create, maintain and refresh required DB2 UDB Data Warehouse instances/databases for development, test and production environments.
• As required, help resolve application problems. Act as liaison between application programmers to assist with resolving problems.
• Monitor security breaches, error log(s), database and log space, user activity and resource utilization of production environment. Work with application programmers to insure that application problems do not adversely affect production operations.
• Monitor system resources of database servers to assure production systems meet performance & availability requirements and hardware enhancements are scheduled in a timely fashion.
• Provide after hours on-call support for deployments and critical database issues.
• Provide expert assistance in database and SQL statement tuning to improve performance. This includes, but is not limited to, re-writing SQL statements, creating new indexes and altering existing indexes.
• Using software packages (e.g., Idera & BMC Patrol) and/or local scripts, monitor performance, space, DB2 UDB Data Warehouse database parameters and tune as required.
• Following BCBSA standards, write, maintain and document monitoring scripts needed in support of applications.
• Monitor disk usage; plan acquisition and replacement of disk devices as needed.
• Act as project liaison and coordinate with AIX system administrators for application of OS patches and maintenance required for database servers.
• Provide DB2 UDB database administration on servers for mission critical applications.
• Development, maintenance and documentation of procedures and standards for effective database software use.
• Analysis and management of DB2 UDB Data Warehouse problems/defects with IBM and installation of patches.
• Use of software and locally developed tools to monitor DB2 UDB Data Warehouse databases.
• Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff of varying technical expertise.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Experience supporting 24x7 environments.
