Duration: 12 Months contract

Hourly Pay Rate: $50/hr on C2C

Project Description:
Client will enable the centralization of vital information and will provide access into a variety of information sources to connect the dots between information that is not obviously related and may even appear unrelated. Client will benefit the state by providing law enforcement agencies with a vast reservoir of information that would not otherwise be accessible. This system focuses almost exclusively on the investigative analysis process.

The requirements for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

•       Design and develop an ETL platform that supports the needs of the Client warehouse.

•       Develop a strategy for loading the historical data and for ongoing near real-time extract, transformation and load schedules.

•       Develop a strategy for rollback/restart the ETL processes and procedures.

•       Work with the database group and other DCJS staff to develop procedures, document, and manage production turnover of data source extraction, transformation and loads programs.

•       Develop a strategy for version control for the various components used in the ETL infrastructure.

•       Work with the database group and other DCJS staff to develop process and procedures for maintaining and supporting ETL in a production environment.

•       Work with the business users and the technical staff to translate the business and functional requirements into a technical solution.

•       Work with database administration to ensures that data extraction, transformations and loads of large data sets occur within available timeframes.

•       Develop a solution for managing and maintaining ETL metadata.

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE

CANDIDATES NOT MEETING ALL OF THE MANDATORY EXPERIENTIAL REQUIREMENTS BELOW WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION

At least eight (8) years IT experience, with a minimum of two (2) years experience in each of the following:

•       Developing in Oracle's Data Integrator product, including load strategies for relational, Type 1, 2, and 3 SCD

•       Working with Oracle version 10.2 or later

•       Writing and tuning PL-SQL and SQL+

At least one (1) year experience as a technical team lead responsible for the design and architecture of the ETL components of a data warehouse, including:

-       Overall architectural design

-       Strategy of on-going design

-       Migration from development to production

At least one (1) year experience leading ETL development on a large data warehouse, including the development, implementation and ongoing support of automated load and validations processes.

At least one (1) year experience writing technical specifications, such as source to target maps and architectural design documents.

At least one (1) year experience extracting data from multiple sources, such as Oracle, text files, XMS and MS Access.


ASSOCIATED SKILL SETS

Candidates must also have three (3) of the preferred skilled sets listed below.

Accordingly, candidates not meeting the supporting experiential specifications below will not be considered for the position.

Experience in data modeling including experience

•          creating normalized Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD's)

•          dimensional models

•          using data modeling tools such as ERWIN or PowerDesigner

Business/System analysis skills

-          Good writing skills

-          Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

-          Ability to work directly with business users
