DIRECT CLIENT REQUIREMENT
Oracle DBA with both SQL Server and Oracle experience
Morrisville, NC
Contract to Hire position.
Job Description
Manage hosted SQL Server and Oracle databases.
Troubleshoot and resolve security issues, connectivity issues, blocking & deadlock issues and performance issues.
Detect and troubleshoot CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
Work experience in Oracle and SQL Server partitioning.
Work experience with SQL Profiler and Oracle trace methods.
Ability to develop plans for future storage requirements.
Ability to write automated shell scripts and complex queries.
Exposure to Data Collection & linked server setup in SQL server.
Be willing to work off-hours and weekends, as needed, and participate in an On-call rotation.
Job Requirement:
- 8yrs+ of DBA experience working with Oracle MSQL 2005/2008, postgres and Mysql
- Excellent analytical and verbal skills
- Ability to create and optimize complex queries
- Generate documentation, reports as needed
- Working knowledge of Unix/Linux required
- Ability to adapt and work in a fast pace environment
- BS degree in CS, CIS or similar. MS a plus
