Job Description:
Specifically for MMS – the tasks required for the Technical Writer:
• Enhance user training documentation for the MMS applications including documentation required for the operations support.
• Develop on-line source documentation as appropriate.
• Identify and create documentation and templates needed by the Application Teams.
• Ensure appropriate control access/use of documentation materials.
• Determine procedures for use of on-line documentation tools and version control documentation as appropriate.
• Ensure messages and terminology is consistent across all written materials.
• Communicate and work with customer representative as necessary.
• Work with Application Team members to enhance their understanding of end-user and technical documentation.
• Communicate accurate and useful status updates.
• Manage and report time spent on all work activities.
• Identify and track issues, risks and action items.
Skills:
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Strong communication skills; both written and spoken
• Ability to organize and prepare work effectively to facilitate proactive resolution of problems, rather than reactive.
• Ability to research problems before approaching MMS Project Manager or Team Lead for assistance.
• Ability to Identify and make recommendations around documentation and templates needed by the Application Teams.
• Ability to determine time estimates and schedule for own work and resolve issues in a timely manner.
