Job Description

SharePoint Database Engineer opportunity. The selected candidate will report to the Director of Clinical Knowledge Management and is focused on SharePoint integration with a database. The qualified candidate would have enterprise level experience in building relational databases, intranets, workflows, and document management in SharePoint. The site(s) will be used to post, vet, approve, publish, view and maintain knowledge assets. These assets will be referenced by corporate / division policy makers, physicians and clinical staff located throughout the facilities. The SharePoint Database Engineer will design a repository in which knowledge assets can be stored and effectively searched using key words. Additionally, the SharePoint Database Engineer will design and create electronic request forms.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze, design, develop, portal and intranet applications utilizing Microsoft Office SharePoint 2010 (soon to be 2013).
• Develop an Access database and integrate with a SharePoint front end to organize knowledge assets using pre-defined Clinical Knowledge Management (CKM) framework.
• Work closely with Clinical Knowledge Management team to develop prototypes and mock-ups of sites and applications for review.
• Design user interfaces, custom designs, and web parts for SharePoint sites that are intuitive for use, creative, and support CKM business needs.
• Build InfoPath forms that integrate with the CKM SharePoint site.
• Develop solutions that provide benefits for the end users and suggest and update creative page designs.
• Develop reports and alerts that drive the knowledge lifecycle (e.g. productivity reports and archival triggers).
• Document guiding principles for managing the site so CKM can maintain the database and site upon completion of development.
• Perform other duties as assigned. 

Required Skills/Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Business/Computer Science or related field preferred
• 3+ years of experience building Access databases and integrating them with Microsoft SharePoint
• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SharePoint Designer
• Experience with developing prototypes and mock-ups
• Experience with user interface design, XSLT, CSS, ASP.NET, HTML, Master page, and page layout technologies preferred
• Knowledge of taxonomies, site design, and navigation principles and best practices
• Must be proficient in MS office products, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• SharePoint knowledge should include architectural design, Web Parts development, InfoPath form development, management and troubleshooting 
• Possesses strong organizational and critical thinking skills.
