MUST HAVE: CDH v5.5; Cloudera Manager; Cloudera Navigator Encryption, Project Sentry... Scalable Data Processing Platform experience Extensive security distribution experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role will assist the project team in transitioning our clients data processing platform spanning both traditional .NET / SQLServer infrastructure and next-generation AWS / Hadoop environments.
What this role entails:
Building massively scalable multi-threaded applications for large data processing primarily with Apache Spark/Pig on Hadoop.
Contribute to integration architecture, performance tuning, capacity planning and data quality activities for the system.
Develop data models to support data processing, management, and delivery.
Perform impact analysis on data models when new integration logic or new source systems are introduced.
Perform unit and integration testing and participate in test and production deployments.
Implement techniques from machine learning, heuristics, and statistical analysis on terabyte-scale data.
Create and provide daily/weekly status updates to a Development Manager overseeing the unit.
Qualifications:
7+ years' of professional experience that includes 2+ years' of hands-on experience with Big Data Technology 2+ years' of hands-on experience with AWS EC2 computing environment.
Strong fundamentals of ETL & experience with multi-terabyte data warehouse systems like Netezza.
Teradata Knowledge on scripting in Shell, Awk, Python or related technologies.
Must Have Experience: Cloudera, others are a plus, Hortonworks, or the likes.
Must have worked in a handful of commercial projects on the Hadoop Big Data Platform.
Well oriented in the world of Big Data and understand the challenges and solutions while dealing with terabytes of data.
Experience with Spark on Cloudera (Hadoop/Databricks) Hive, Pig. 5 plus experience programming with Python, Scala / C++ / C# / Java.
Create and compare solutions with NoSQL (Couchbase, MongoDB, Redis ) and SQL Server solutions.
Experience with Map Reduce Programming, Apache Pig, Hive, HBase & related components in the Big Data Technology.
Stack Experience with design, development & maintenance of technology solutions aligned to the key objectives.
Functional and non-functional Good in solution design & trouble shooting.
Must have worked in environments that adhere to standard practices in software engineering & quality processes.
Can adapt to work in a positive, challenging & dynamic environment with expectations on meeting SLAs.
Strong Analytical skills Exceptional Oral & Written communication skills.
