Duration: 06 Months
Expert level skills at bourne shell, perl, gnu make, and unix/linux from the command line.
- Direct experience designing large Makefile systems: dependencies, include model, configurable rules, start-from-middle
- Direct experience creating standard packages: RPM, .deb, etc.
- 10+ years industry experience
- 5+ years release engineering experience (makefiles, unattended builds)
- Strong experience configuring and installing opensource (eg, ./configure), esp. for cross compilers (arm, mips)
- Strong experience configuring and building linux kernels (eg, make menuconfig), esp. kconfig syntax
- Experience working with embedded systems: cross compilers, working over serial consoles, flashing firmware
- Familiar with perforce, vmware.
- A love for the elegance of a good make file
