Data Analyst / Datamodeler

Location: Schaumburg, IL or Philadelphia, PA

Duration: Long term

Overview:

This position is part of  Data Warehouse.  Responsibilities consist of all aspects of data management, including business requirements, data source identification, data analysis, data profiling, participation in solution architecture definition, specifications and documentation, and source to target mapping rules development and testing. The resource will design, code, and unit test the mapping rules processes using Ab Initio's ACE/BRE rules engine.  The resource must be able to work with and understand the business, understand data and perform data analysis as well as have the technical skills to design, develop and test the mapping rules.  The ideal candidate will have both data warehouse business analyst and development experience.

Responsibilities:

·  Perform Data Profiling

·  Implement Data Quality rules

·  Design, Develop and Test source to target mapping processes using Ab Initio's ACE/BRE rules engine in order to meet project requirements

·  Perform testing and validation activities for source to target mappings and data domain validation 

·  Generate and maintain documentation for data warehouse projects

·  Troubleshoot and support production

·  Support the team in developing best practices and standards

Qualifications:

·  Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and methodologies 

·  Ability to work with stakeholders to understand their strategy, processes, data flows, rules and systems in order to provide innovative recommendations on solutions

·  Effectively communicates technical information to non-technical staff and non-technical information to technical staff

·  Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts and decompose high-level information into details that the team can easily comprehend

·  Mapping analysis, design, debugging

·  Strong SQL programming skills with ability to write complex SQL statements

·  Ability to perform data analysis to identify specific data conditions and troubleshoot problem 

·  Ability to read dimensional and relational data models and work with data modelers to provide appropriate information to design the ideal data model

·  Works well in a team environment

·  Ability to organize, plan and implement work assignments, juggle competing demands and work under pressure of frequent and tight deadlines

·  Strong self-management skills, including the ability to manage time and workload against priorities and objectives

·  Demonstrated ability to respond to changing and sometimes ambiguous situations

Education and Experience:

·  Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar concentration preferred 

·  5+ years of experience performing duties similar to those outlined above

·  5+ years data warehousing experience

OTHER SKILLS/EXPERIENCE (Desired but not required):

• Experience with Netezza
• Experience/exposure to Cognos Reporting Tools
• Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) industry experience
