Job Description:

Automation Engineer - Cloud Operations

Leading technology company is seeking an Automation Engineer – Cloud Operations. This person will participate and implement infrastructure technology in various cloud and on premise platforms while utilizing current technology standards, best practices and implementation patterns

Preferred Experience

·         Experience designing and delivering secure cloud solutions for a major organization

·         Experience designing cloud deployment strategies that mitigate risk while meeting infrastructure and budgetary needs

·         Experience with SaaS technologies with Managed/Unmanaged Hosting

·         Excellent communication, interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills

·         Participate in construction activities ensuring architectural and operational requirements are met

·         Utilize standard enterprise tools to develop or implement infrastructure hardware, software or other technical components

·         Automate infrastructure component setup using automation tools like Puppet/CHEF/ Jenkins

·         Resolve hardware, operational, infrastructure and application incidents

·         Provides preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and quickly resolves problems to ensure infrastructure and application stability

·         Collaborate with team to promote re-use and develop consistent technical build, implementation and support processes

·         Participate in the design, lifecycle management, and total cost of ownership of platforms, applications and infrastructure services

Requirements

·         BA/BS or equivalent experience

·         5-7 years total work experience

·         Has in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art engineering technical approaches in design, build, testing, debugging problems as required by domain

·         Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise

·         Stays current with new and evolving technologies via formal training and self-directed education

Preferred

·         Experience with Cloud & SaaS Platforms

·         Experience in UNIX scripting

·         Experience in infrastructure automation leveraging tools like CHEF/Puppet/Ruby or equivalent

·         Experience in developing eCommerce applications

·         Cloud Certification

·         J2EE Platforms: JBoss, Apache, Tomcat and WebSphere

·         Legacy Development Stacks: Java, C++ and Linux/Unix

·         Architectural Experience: Python, Ruby on Rails, Java/.NET
