Overview

Our client is seeking a PL/SQL QA tester for data warehouse environment. Primary responsibility will be to assist our client’s in all activities related to testing, verification and validation of data.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review design/requirements and understand business process
• Proficient with PL/SQL and be able to demonstrate intermediate to advanced query writing skills.
• Create Test Design Document
• Create Test Plans and Test Strategy documents
• Set up or modify test input data if necessary (in ORACLE DB) using TOAD.
• Verify and document test results utilizing testing tools and utilities.
• Write PLSQL scripts to implement/automate complex testing strategy
• Analyze each defect with the root cause such that the defect has the complete details for the development team.
• Oracle Database experience with data mining data and analyzing complex functionality against requirements
• Analyze and troubleshoot any anomalies
• Report any anomalies in incident reporting system.
• Represent system test in project team meetings, as well as requirement reviews, design reviews, etc.

Candidate should possess the following:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• 4+ years of Oracle SQL & Pl/Sql
• 6+ year of IT experience.
• Proficient in understanding relational data structures / models / relationships
• Candidates must have experience in a reporting environment
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools, in particular, Word and Excel
• Must be proactive and possess the ability to work independently
• Preferably QA certified.

1.Solid understanding of TLC and SDLC

2.Proficiency in writing comprehensive test cases, test strategy documents.

3.Ability to derive text metrics and prepare Test Summary Report

4.Proficiency in writing complex pl/sql queries (Oracle db)

5.Proficiency with QTP

6.Excellent verbal/communication and writing skills

7.Ability to multi-task and prioritize

8.Adapt with ease to constantly changing priorities in a fast paced environment

9.Self-starter, highly organized and motivated

10.Excellent time management skills

11.Excellent analytical skills

12.SOAP UI is a plus

13.Accurate in providing timely feedback on the tasks complete

14.Ability to identify risks, perform risk based testing

15.Take pro-active approach towards testing
