Position: Business Analyst (Debt Management)

Location: Manhattan, NY

Length    : 12 month's (contract)

 

The primary focus of the analyst activities will be supporting Debt Management System

The individual will support the following work efforts:

.   Analysis of debt issuances as necessary in order to facilitate upload of bond, tax and state law   details into the Debt Management
·   Work with users to identify and resolve issues with current deployment of reports
·   Assist business owners with User Acceptance testing efforts by documenting and executing test cases
·  The candidate will be expected to interface with high level city managers and fixed income staff at   numerous financial institutions

Requisite Experience:

·        At least 5 yrs of experience at a financial institution, preferably with fixed income instruments
·        At least 5 yrs of experience working on software development initiatives as a business

         or system analyst
·        Must have strong Microsoft Office experience (Excel, MS Access, Word, etc) and be able

         to author and package design deliverables
·        Must have experience in writing and executing ad-hoc reports from a 3rd party tool

         (e.g., Crystall Business Objects, Cognos, MS Access)

Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·        Candidate must have deep understanding of various financial concepts (e.g., financial calculations,  industry entities and their roles in a bond underwriting, simple and complex financial instruments)
·        Strong interpersonal skills with ability to facilitate meeting discussions, broker issue resolutions,  and articulate decision points
·        Strong English oral and written communication skills - as necessary for the authoring of key deliverables and interaction with senior management
·        Professional demeanor and attention to exacting detail
·        Candidate must have capability for self direction and will be expected to take initiative and ownership of tasks and issue resolution
