Job Description:
Relevant Experience (Yrs) : 5+ years
Technical/Functional Skills :
• Minimum 5 years of industry experience with at least 4 yrs of experience in Cognos TM1 for business intelligence / data warehousing solutions in the insurance services industry.
• Expertise in building TM1 Cubes over an Oracle Source by writing complex queries but still maintaining the performance margins.
• Cognos TM1 (formerly Applix TM1) experience required. Specifically:
◦Cube design
◦TM1 rules development
◦Data feeder development
◦Processes & chore development
◦Drill through development
• Experience with accounting or finance preferred along with a general working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, planning, dashboards, general ledger, financial reporting, month and year-end close.
• Strong understanding of TM1 processes related to the above business processes.
• Strong at Oracle SQL and PL/SQL
• Must have multiple full lifecycle project experience in developing TM1 solutions as a developer, architect and leader; experience managing complex projects
• Good Understanding of Data warehousing concepts – including Data Modeling, ETL, OLAP

Roles & Responsibilities :
• This role will assist in Developing new solutions/systems and customizing the existing solutions/systems which include: OLAP (Cognos TM1 (Application) systems, ERP (Oracle Apps) systems, Data Warehouse (Oracle 11g) and customer presentation solutions (mainly TM1 reports and Microsoft Excel templates).
• Assess new and changed requirements and determine their impact on existing TM1 routines; determine the level of effort to implement changes and additions
• Develop project and resource plans for TM1 activities; manage the project from inception to completion including interdependencies with other teams
• 3-4 years of hands-on BI & OLAP experience. Excellent understanding of the software implementation process, specifically phased rollouts.
• Ability to work with source system experts to develop ETL routines, as necessary, to support system solutions.
• Analyze requirements and formulate an appropriate technical solution that meets functional and non-functional requirements; assess Dimension and Cube related specifications for completeness and accuracy and partner with other teams to be sure they are actionable
• Take an active role in the cross-functional design and be an advocate for the TM1 team throughout
• Foster strong relationships with data architecture, database administration to design warehouse/BI reports
• Lead the design of the TM1 solution; oversee the TM1 low-level design and design phase deliverables; ensure that the design conforms to the overall architecture
• Manage the build phase and quality-assure the code to ensure that it meets requirements and adheres to standards; resolve difficult design and build issues; troubleshoot bugs
• Develop TM1 processes to implement complex business logic, transformations and aggregations
• Plan and execute Quality Assurance testing with the QA team and resolve QA defects
• Plan and manage QA and Production releases and ensure they are deployed smoothly
Generic Managerial Skills :
• Ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously
• Successful history of interfacing with end users in a customer support role. This includes working directly with end users on a frequent basis.
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and execute on assigned deliverables
• Ability to quickly learn new systems and business processes
