required

·         Propose and review presentation architecture to ensure that it supports extensible web design

·         Participate in user focus groups and usability studies as required

Skills/Experience

CSS for high traffic websites

·         Ability to generate XHTML/CSS by hand, not using a WYSIWYG editor

·         Ability to develop high quality, user interfaces that adhere to usability and accessibility standards

(e.g. W3C's Content Accessibility Guidelines, Neilsen/Norman Group guidelines)

·         Comprehensive knowledge of JavaScript, AJAX and associated frameworks (e.g. jQuery, Prototype,

Dojo)

·         Ability to generate novel solutions to user experience problems and visualize them in appealing web

designs

·         Proficiency with image manipulation software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver)

·         Understanding of integrated development environments (e.g. Eclipse) and version control software

(e.g. CVS, Subversion)

·         Ability to think logically, critically, and constructively about complex problems

·         Possess strong oral and written communication skills and strong influence skills

Desired Skills

• Experience performing usability testing, heuristic site evaluations and assessment of resulting data

• Experience in web design for web applications in an n-tier architecture

• Experience with development of animation in tools such as Adobe Flash, Adobe AIR

• Experience designing in an Agile environment strongly preferred

• Experience designing and/or developing for mobile platforms (e.g. iPhone OS, Android)

• Experience with semantic web-oriented data structures

• Experience collaborating with remote stakeholders, including off-shore development teams
