*Job Description:*

The Senior Software Developer contributes to all facets of the development, maintenance, and support of our client's systems and applications, with strong emphasis on the analysis of business requirements, written 

communication of technical design and development of quality code.

Responsibilities include design, development (coding), and unit testing of new functionality and code enhancements. In addition:

Leads problem solving, design and analysis efforts 

The Java Developer will also act as an administrator for WebLogic/JBoss/Apache or other application servers

Owns projects 

Write code 

Unit test 

Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) 

Presentation skills 

Investigation, debug & resolution of Production Support issues

Job Responsibility Breakdown: 

75% - Design, Development, Unit testing

25% - QA & Production Support

Qualifications

The candidate should have

A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

A minimum of 10 years of development experience.

A minimum of 8 years experience as a Java Developer.

Ability to work with very diverse team; a Team Player and a self-starter.

Ability to take total ownership of assigned components

Ability and willingness to pick up and learn new technologies and build prototypes to demonstrate.

Proficiency in software design, development, and unit testing. 

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

Ability to accurately estimate the level of effort required for planned designs. 

Strong problem solving, debugging, and application and code maintenance skills, and the ability to assess the impact of required changes to related systems.

                                         

Technology Preferred (one or more of the following)

Java, JSP, Servlets, EJB 3, JDBC

Struts, Spring, Hibernate

Experience with WebLogic/Apache/JBoss Administration in a non-production environment.

Multi-threading and Distributed architecture 

AJAX, Javascript, JSON, XML, JAXB, JAX-WS, SOAP

SQL, PL/SQL

Oracle, SQL Server

Version control

JUnit

Eclipse IDE

Linux, UNIX, Windows

Preferred but not required:

XML Schemas

Report Servers – Oracle, SSRS, etc.

ETL/BI Tools

UML   

Java or other Certifications.
