Role: Business Intelligence Reporting Tools Lead
Relevant Experience (Yrs):
• Minimum of 8-10 years of design and development experience in IT Industry.
• 4-6+ years dedicated experience in developing Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse applications. Strong emphasis on Cognos and familiarity with Business Objects and SAS Enterprise Guide.
Necessary Skills:
• Cognos - MUST HAVE, Strong knowledge of Cognos Query Studio, Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Cognos Viewer, Transformer, PowerPlay, Framework Manager and Cognos Connection, Metric designer and Metric studio, Event Studio module, Map Manager module. Cognos 8 experience is a MUST.
• Business Objects - Strong Technical hands-on expertise using OLAP tool Business Objects 4/5.x/6.0 /XIR2(Reports, Designer, Web Intelligence, Info view )
• Expertise in Universe designing, developing and generating complex, Adhoc, dashboard Reports, Business views, List of values along with User Acceptance Test and data accuracy Test.
• Proven abilities in creating complex reports by linking data from multiple data providers, using free hand SQL, stored procedures and functionality like Combined Queries.
• Extensively use of Business Objects reporting functionality such as Master Detailed, Slice and Dice, Drilling methodology, Filters, Ranking, Sections, Graphs and Breaks.
• Knowledge of advanced functionalities like aggregation, building hierarchies etc
• Very good knowledge of Oracle, SQL and PL/SQL
• Prior experience in implementing data level and report level security in BI Tools.
Desired Skills:
• They will have responsibility for one or more applications, and work on multiple projects and/or manage small projects of 2 - 4 team members.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Working with functional and technical associates to gather business requirements, provide technical support and consulting, and plan and prioritize their work, as well as coordinate the completion of work sent offshore.
• Leading the design and implementation of BI Solutions using Cognos and other analytics tools like BO, SAS Enterprise Guide.
• Building the solution to meet product/project specific requirements
• Creating high performance and highly scalable designs
• Establishing and implementing BI best practices and guidelines
• Not only apply established methodologies, processes, and procedures, but also contribute to development of new processes and the continuous improvement of existing processes.
• Provide development and production support for the data mart and Analytics environment
• Ensure team compliance with KPIT standards, procedures, and controls.
• Continually improve personal and team capacity to deliver high quality solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
Generic Managerial Skills:
• 3 or more years of leadership experience in application development (e.g. project management, technical team leadership or recognized technology domain expertise).
• 7+ years experience working with a variety of technology disciplines (e.g. programming languages, operating systems, database management systems, data warehousing).
• Demonstrated ability to translate/communicate complex concepts to peers and business partners.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment with short deadlines, interruptions, and multiple tasks/projects occurring at once.
• Demonstrated ability to leverage and mentor others through technical team leadership.
• Solid communication, documentation, and project/task management skills.
• Extensive experience in estimating work efforts for complex projects
• Perform Quality Assurance, unit and system testing as well as complete documentation of deliverables.
• Scope, plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks and projects.
• Provides primary level support overall to systems and teams as necessary to ensure proper and efficient use of systems.
• Ability to analyze and design methodologies for full system development life cycles. Ability to analyze and design data conversions and integration tools, processes, and practices.
Education: • BS degree or equivalent required
