We are in need of a Ruby Developer for Platform Transformation
JOB DISCRIPTION
This role involves design and creation of new, high-scalability applications in Ruby, JRuby and (occasionally) other JVM based languages.
· Candidate will be engaged in pair programming, refactoring, TDD and BDD.
· Continuous integration is a must.
· As part of a high-performance team, candidate should be current with fast tools and techniques for web development.
· Must also know how to design high scalability applications for the web. This includes understanding how the web works, along with good knowledge of caching and
NoSQL data storage.
· Must be able to articulate design ideas for a system and collaborate with a team to reach a decision.
A candidate for this position will be looking to work with a team that:
* Is cloud-based
* Uses Chef for automated testing/deployment
* Uses message queues
* Works in a MacBook environment with Apple pairing stations
* Uses Git-hub
* Writes and deploys their own code (DevOps model)
* Has a sustainable work-life balance

* Uses greenfield development with a high level of developer input
Skills/experience required
* Test-driven Development
* Developing Ruby on Rails applications
* Aggressive Refactoring
* High comfort level with .*nix
* Social skills (you will be pair programming)
* Object Oriented
* Can demonstrate Ruby development
Skills/experience Recommended PLUSSES:
* RESTful web services
* Experience with testing frameworks
