Position: Systems Administrator
Location: Denver, CO
Duration: 6 Months
Position duties:
* Evaluate, design, configure, and maintain and Unix\Linux operating systems and application software on standalone hosted servers that exist in a multi
VLAN infrastructure. Evaluate, design, configure, and maintain Microsoft operating systems and application software on standalone and Active
Directory hosted servers that exist in a multi VLAN and domain infrastructure.
* Utilizing Change processes, adjust system parameters to obtain optimum performance for the specific situation.
* Analyze software, subsystem, and platform problems using resources from system manuals, software tools, state personnel, internet, vendors, and
manufacturer's documentation to keep systems online and functioning properly. Monitor, assess, and mitigate server and platform security related
issues.
* Participate in on-call rotation and use of the workload ticketing system for server support.
* Research and analyze technologies to support customer agencies in the implementation of those technologies in support of their business need by
studying trade journals, attending seminars or training, meeting with vendors and other business representatives, evaluating hardware and software
during trial periods, and determining whether or not the product meets the State's requirements.
