BI Architect

Job Summary/ Responsibilities :

The Microsoft BI Architect will work on the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) team, and be responsible for working with project managers, business analysts, and users to architect effective solutions to support specific business analysis functions. The architect will work with the Microsoft SQL Server 2008R2 Business Intelligence suite (SSAS, SSRS, SSIS, Excel 2010, SharePoint 2010, PerformancePoint, etc.) to create management Dashboards, Scorecards and supporting reports. Candidate must be highly proficient technically, well organized, and eager to learn new tools and techniques. Candidate must be highly motivated and highly productive.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Participate in requirements gathering sessions with the users and Business Analyst to understand business analysis functions to be supported.

• Participate in design walkthroughs to communicate Data Mart table designs to the project team.

• Develop Management Dashboards and Scorecards in either PerformancePoint 2010 or Reporting Services

• Develop Detail Reports utilizing Reporting Services reports against Analysis Services cubes

• Conduct design and code walkthroughs.

• Conduct unit tests of ETL processes, cubes, and reports.

• Follow established SQL Server standards for design, development and migrations.

• Follow established standards for change management between Dev, QA/UAT, and Production environments and source code version control.

Qualifications/Requirements : Candidate should possess the following specific technical skills:

•3-5 years Dashboards and Scorecards experience

•3-5 years Sharepoint and PerformancePoint experience

•3-5 years Reporting Services experience

•Strong MDX skills

•5-7 years of Analysis Services experience, 2-3 years of Analysis Services 2005 or 2008

•Experience delivering BI solutions through Sharepoint Server

•Strong SQL skills

•Star Schema modeling a plus

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:

•Experience developing in SQL Server 2005 or 2008 environment

•Experience with Analysis Services OLAP cube development

•Experience with Integration Services ETL development

•Experience with implementation and support of data warehouse environments
