Job Title: Oracle DBA

Location: West Lake Village, CA

Duration: 6 Months+

 

Ideal candidate should have 9- 10+ year of Oracle DBA experience in an emphasis on performance tuning.

Technical Skills & Qualifications

-          Technical expertise managing large Oracle 10g databases (500GB).

-          Thorough understanding of Oracle 10 internals

-          Technical expertise managing Oracle databases in a Solaris environment.

-          Expert SQL skills

-          Expert skills Oracle instance and SQL performance turning

-          Expert skills Oracle cost based optimizer and statistics

-          Expert skills interpreting execution plans 

-          Expert skills with Oracle table joining and indexing techniques to improve query performance

-          Experience using stored outlines, histograms, SQL profiles and hints to control optimizer behavior

-          Experience using table partitioning and materialized views to improve query performance

-          Thorough knowledge of performance testing methodology

-          Expert skills using Oracle OEM and AWR tools

-          Ability to mentor and coach other Oracle DBAs.

-          Experience in a 24x7 production environment.

-          Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

-          Self-starter; ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

-          Strong problem solving, analytical and documentation skills.

-          Strong verbal and written communication skills

-          Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields.

 

Duties:

-          Administer and maintain various application Oracle database.

-          Monitor database health, availability, reliability, performance, capacity planning, and indexing. 

-          Examine and recommend performance tuning setting to improve the overall performance, growth and reliability of the database.

-          Resolve any problems that arise with the database.

-          Participate as a member of a project team.

-          Suggest new methods, products, procedures and innovations that will improve system performance.

-          Effective follow policies and procedures established by the team/department/company.
