Hyperion Planning and Essbase Consultant

Duration: 15 months

Location: Boston MA

 

Description:

1. Solid experience with Hyperion Planning.  
2. Implement new enhancements and change requests in Essbase.
3. Regular interaction with client, for Essbase support and maintenance.

Essbase Administrator will be part of a team responsible for the development and maintenance of the Hyperion financial systems and reporting tools. This position is primarily focused on the Hyperion Essbase product and the coordination of Essbase interactions with the other Hyperion tools which includes Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), Financial Data Management (FDM), and Hyperion Planning.  This role involves ensuring the quality and accuracy of data, the execution of Essbase calculations, the management and execution of global processes, and the ability to support the Global Finance Organization.  

4. Create, modify, execute, and maintain Essbase calculation scripts, outlines, member formulas, variable, aliases, partitions, load rules, MXL, security filters, and report scripts.
5. Responsible for understanding and interpreting end user requirements and translating those requirements into well architected solutions and designs.
6. Perform detailed analysis as needed to develop and maintain detailed documentation for all application upgrades, product enhancements, and process modifications. Develop and maintain detailed end user documentation and application administration documentation.
7. Execute on the development, implementation, and testing of developed solutions to ensure business requirements are satisfied and implemented accurately.
8. Create, modify, execute, and maintain Hyperion Planning calculations and modeling.
9. Manage data and metadata load processes and mappings, including validation, to confirm the quality and accuracy of data.

• Experience Optimizing Essbase and Hyperion Planning applications

• Proficient with creating or performing the following:

·         Designing and building Business Rules and Calc Scripts

·         Configuring Outlines and adding custom Dimensions and Hierarchies

·         Performance Tuning Essbase cubes

·         Designing and building data and metadata integrations

·         Configuring user provisioning and Access Security

·         Designing and building Web Forms

·         Hyperion Financial Reports

·         Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills

·         7 years of analyst experience across finance functional areas

·         Demonstrated expertise in business analysis, decision-making and the ability to work with all levels of management

• The Hyperion Planning Application Lead (Hyperion Lead) will function as the technical Application Owner of Hyperion Planning databases that have been deployed at Client. The Hyperion Lead will be the technical subject matter expert (SME) for Hyperion Planning and will work with business users to define and configure Budgeting and Forecasting business requirements within HyperionPlanning v11 that provide best practice solutions. The Hyperion Lead must be proactive in communicating with business users on a frequent basis to build and maintain a solid working relationship.
• The Hyperion Lead will provide technical ''know-how'' regarding Hyperionarchitecture, configuration, customization, data mappings, validation rules, and data loads. The candidate must be proficient in the following areas: Data input forms, Calculation scripts, Business rules, System reports, Smart View analysis and reporting functionality, setup and system security maintenance, and User support.
• The Hyperion Lead will participate on future Hyperion Planning projects that will meet the strategic planning requirements of the Client business segments. On projects, this role will include developing and interpreting technical specifications used to support interfaces, developing reports, defining business rules and calc scripts, and supporting other technical components of the environment. TheHyperion lead must have a thorough understanding of project management concepts and deliverables, and meet defined deadlines. The Hyperion Lead will be fully engaged in deployment activities and provide technical guidance to the project team.
