Role Teradata DBA
Locations: Irving, TX or Jacksonville, FL or Chicago, IL) :
Duration:6+ Months | | Description Teradata DBA Contractor Primary Responsibilities: - Teradata EDW responsibilities - Providing DBA support for both Teradata system users & applications; -Support DDL migrations across environments as requested; -Establishing the needs of users and monitoring user access and security; -Monitoring performance and managing parameters to provide fast query responses to 'front end' users; -Mapping out the 'conceptual design' for a planned database in outline; -Work w/developers and production support teams on various Teradata EDW issues; -Assist w/'logical design so that it can be translated into a specific data model; -Implement the physical design to meet system storage/performance requirements; -Installing/test new versions of the database management system (DBMS) and TTU; -Maintaining data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act; -Writing database documentation (PCM/TSM), including data standards, procedures and documentation; -Define roles within database; -Developing, managing and testing backup and recovery plans for BAR/COB; - Implement compression, collect statistics, and space movement as needed; -Install & Supporting Teradata environment, databases, tools, utilities (TTU); -Work with Data Classification and Performance Management Teams to ensure appropriate roles and data access considerations. -Develop various reporting relative to capacity, performance, availability, problem and change management, etc. -Provide 24x7 on-call support. | | | | | | | | Qualifications Required Experience: • 4 + years experience as a Database Administrator – Teradata EDW • Associates or Specific Technical Training preferred • Good Communication skills • Ability to work independently | | |
