Position:- Ruby Developer

Duration:- 6+ months

Location :- New York

Our Development Environment:

Client Side: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Ruby for Google SketchUp plugin

Server Side: Linux, PostgreSQL, Apache Tomcat+Java, nginx+PHP, Scala, node.js and C

We also use: memcached, virtualization, RESTful APIs and many open source tools

Essential Requirements:

• Proven track record with a portfolio demonstrating your Ruby coding expertise with solid OO design.
• Experience with calling server-side resources from a Ruby client.
• Excellent software design and OO/modular programming skills
• Strong knowledge of software design patterns
• Ability to communicate complex technical information in a clear and tactful manner
• Ambition to be part of and help build a world class development team

Nice to Haves:

• Experience deploying desktop software and testing installation components and procedures.
• Experience with Google SketchUp. Experience writing and deploying SketchUp Plugins is an outstanding nice-to-have!
• A good eye for UI design.

You'll be working alongside our backend development and engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions to very complex 3D geometry and cloud computing problems. Your first role will be to create a Google SketchUp Plugin in Ruby. You will be responsible for all aspects of deployment, installation, and interaction with our server-based product. The role offers the challenge of creating software that greatly improves the ease and speed of use of designing sustainable buildings.
