Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Data Solution Development
Design, develop and deploy complex data solutions for new and evolving business requirements supporting: Risk Analytics, Risk Modeling and Basel. Solutions will be developed using SAS, SAS DI Studio and Unix Scripting. All processes will be automated with proper controls to ensure data integrity and all SLA requirements are met for the SAS Modeling Tool (SMT) Application.
Production Monitoring
Monitor and oversee Business as Usual (BAU) execution of production processes for the SAS Modeling Tool (SMT) application. Work closely with the IT production team to ensure code elevations are successful and provide technical support on break fix activities to ensure all Service Level Agreements are met on a timely basis.
Data Quality
Design, develop and deploy comprehensive data quality processes using SAS, SAS DI Studio and Unix Scripting. All processes will be automated with proper controls to ensure data integrity of data flowing into and out of the SMT application. Standardized reports and alerts will be deployed to a centralized intranet based repository where users of the SMT data and relevant data stewards can access the information to appropriately respond to data issues and changes.
Infrastructure Support
Work with IT to facilitate capacity planning, user support and infrastructure oversight. This will ensure that continuously growing and evolving production processes can execute seamlessly without interruption to SLA's. It will also ensure that users of SMT data have an acceptable user experience, as well as, the proper capacity to perform analytic functions utilizing the SMT data.
Process Improvement
Design, develop and deploy continuous improvement processes that ultimately reduce capacity required to execute SMT processes, streamline/simplify SMT processes, increase controls and improve speed to market. This will drive down cost of operating the SMT application while providing faster speed to market for critical models and analytic business rules resulting in lower consumer risks or increased profits.
Detailed Description :
The Risk Management Basel Information candidate will work closely with the Consumer Risk Management team, Program Manager, Project Managers, and the Lines of Business. Basel compliance is a new discipline for the Client. This requires this position to quickly come up to speed in a self-directed learning process.
The incumbent will:
Drive the design, procurement, implementation, and continued maintenance of Risk Management's modeling and analytic infrastructure for Basel and other risk analytics activities. Provide leadership and project management for Decision Analytics and Modeling Support activities. Produce documentation supporting regulatory reporting related to decisions, methodologies, processes and data associated with the SAS Modeling Tool (SMT) and data environment. Manage a Risk Information Engineering team.
Description of the kind of work performed in the unit:
Transform the retail model development environment to be compliant with new Basel II requirements - in particular as it relates to Basel compliant audit trails and performance tracking. Supervise the development of enhancements, efficiencies, maintenance and on-going population of the SAS Modeling Tool (SMT) infrastructure, which serves as the basis for the creation of multivariate models disaggregated into subpopulations defined by the data. Drive the design and development of comprehensive automated Data Quality controls to monitor all data processes for the SMT environment. The position is responsible for architecting data solutions to support complex model development activities, which includes mapping disparate data sets into a unified modeling environment. This position will also support the execution of processes that calculate Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD) and Exposure at Default (EAD) as well as other performance metrics. The incumbent will participate as an active member of the Risk Management team with frequent interaction at the senior executive level. The Risk Information Manager is responsible for understanding business strategies of specific lines of business, and for the planning, direction and delivery of enterprise information capabilities that directly support those business strategies.
