Role:-Senior Business Objects Developer
Location:-Lansing, MI.
Duration:- 6 month
Data Warehouse Business Objects Developer including the following tasks:
CANDIDATES WILL BE EVALUATED ON THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
• 5+ years of Business Objects Report Development
• 5+ years of SQL development (ETL experience coding SQL statements)
• Business Objects universe development
• Teradata experience using version 12 or 13
• Teradata Utilities experience
• SQL Assistant experience
ANY ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE OR SKILL SETS WILL BE BENEFICAL FOR THE POSITION:
• Business Analyst experience
• Data Warehouse DBA experience with SQL performance tuning
• Mentoring co-workers
• Children's Rights Initiative knowledge
• Child Welfare knowledge
Following are my notes on the position requirements:
• Strong emphasis on Business Objects reporting skills – would like to see a resume history that is focused on Business Objects as primary skill for 7-8 years
• Business Objects reporting experience on Teradata Platform is required
• Business Objects universe development is desirable
• Teradata related skills is also desirable and could be very helpful in winning the position
• Ability to work with end users/customers to understand the reporting requirements
• Ability to learn the Children's Rights business area
• Analyze project requirements and develop detailed specifications for new and existing data warehouse reporting requirements
• Ability to understand performance considerations of reporting requirements - able to debug and correct report performance issues
• Review and validate the development of test data and scenarios incorporating extensive knowledge of the Agency's business rules.
• Needs to be able to work independently and not rely on State or other team members to learn Business Objects - need someone at Senior level
• Develop or acquire test data and initiate tests to determine the accuracy of reporting logic to produce desired results.
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with programmers, analysts, immediate supervisor, management, system users, operations, other State agencies and the private sector. Meet with users for clarification and elaboration as may be necessary to clearly define a problem and conceptualize a development plan. Recognize, gather, correlate, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and devise solutions and alternatives. make appropriate recommendations.
• Working with the DBA and Data Modelers, facilitate modification of the logical design to create a physical design most suited to the reporting needs of the customer.
• Work with developers and DBA to create and maintain design standards.
• Ability to design applications taking into consideration data reconciliation (to the source system), query/reporting performance, and analytical business value.
• Preferred (but not required) experience with State Government and Human Services business areas including Eligibility, Child and Adult Welfare, and Child Support including the following:
a. TANF
b. ASCAP II
c. JJOLT
d. EBT System
e. SWSS Child (FAJ, CWCMS, CPS, Adoption Subsidy)
f. Bridges
g. Children's Rights Lawsuit Settlement project
