Role:- Oracle SQL Server DBA
Location:- NYC, NY
Duration:- 6month

Mid-Senior (10-15 years) level strong Oracle (10g and 11g) and SQL
Server (2005, 2008 and 2008 R2) DBA.
* This role will involve dealing with some of our most critical
systems that use Oracle and SQL Server databases. He/She will be our
sole Oracle DBA and will have to administer 3 mission critical
systems. On the SQL Server side, candidate will work with our primary
DBA. Effort/time division between the two roles would be roughly 70%
and 30% for SQL Server and Oracle respectively.
* This role will not involve working on cutting edge Oracle
technologies but candidate needs to be a strong Oracle DBA. On the SQL
Server side, we are fairly up-to-date with latest suite of
technologies.
* Besides managing backups, restoration and keeping databases in
good health, candidate will also be working closely with 25-30
developers to troubleshoot performance issues, help with DB
architecture and design for business applications
* Not project managers/project leads, need a solid hands-on
technologist, who can solve issues quickly without much guidance.
* Candidate must be comfortable with working in multitasking,
high-pressure environment with demanding users
* Good verbal/written communication skills required

Financial industry experience required
* Working knowledge in financial domain desirable, not absolutely required
Technical Expertise:

Comprehensive DBA experience with Oracle 10g and 11g required on UNIX
based Servers (at least 4-5 years)
* Must have DBA experience with SQL Server 2005, 2008 and 2008
R2 (at least 4-5 years)
* Must have comprehensive expertise various replication
mechanisms and tools for Oracle/SQL databases
* Must have expert-level knowledge and experience in
Partitioning, hardware configuration, physical I/O optimization etc.
for Oracle/SQL databases
* Must have DBA experience on large and complex OLTP/OLAP
databases in Oracle/SQL
* Must have strong expertise in writing/optimizing complex
queries, procedures, functions etc. in Oracle/SQL
* Good working knowledge in SSIS is highly desirable* Good working knowledge in SSRS is highly desirable
* Good working knowledge in SSAS is desirable
