17 Month contract in Phoenix, AZ
Java Web Services Performance Engineer will be responsible for the following functions:
· Develop and drive performance test strategies to replicate production client patterns/usages and to validate software changes.
· Tune software and underlying components (hardware, middleware, databases etc.) for optimal performance (response times and throughput)
· Provides input and insight to the software design and architecture process
· Works with cross functional project teams to define performance metrics and acceptance criteria
· Analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks in a highly clustered HA environment with over 300 servers.
Requirements:
· 4 year degree and 10+ years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· 5 or more years of experience in the field of software performance management
· Proficiency with generating SOAP/XML load using standard off the shelf tools.
· Performance tuning experience with Web Services on Tomcat application server.
· Performance tuning/optimization experience with messaging infrastructure such as MQ.
· Performance tuning experience on OS and Network technologies ( Linux, TCP/IP)
· Experience with standard profiling/monitoring tools - Wily Introscope, BAC, Visual VM etc.
· Working experience on complex middleware environments
· Software Development background is a plus
· Expert written and communication skills
· This position will require off-hours including night and weekend work schedule commitment.
