Position : Senior Java Developer

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Length: 12+ months

Position Summary:

We are looking for candidates who love to write code, love to talk about coding, love new technologies, and want to be a part of innovating and evolving a successful but aging web application.  They strive for elegant solutions but respect the need for reasonable business constraints.  They have a passion for coding that has led them to participate in open source or experimental side projects in their free time.  They get really excited when they find a new method or tool that makes them a more productive coder.  Experience with REST, Spring, & Grails are big pluses.

 

Below is a list of criteria we are looking for in a Sr Java Developer:

• Senior developer with at least 5 years of hard core Java.
• core webapp tech - Servlets, JSP, JSTL, XML api's and processing.
• deep with one or more webapp frameworks - Struts, Grails, Lift, Spring Web Flow...  
• core HTML tech - xhtml, css, javascript.
• one or more javascript/ajax libraries – jquery (preferred), prototype/scriptaculous, yui, etc...
• prefer ORM experience, particularly JPA and Hibernate.
• prefer multithreaded experience. 
• prefer strong Oracle sql experience
• prefer some experience with NoSQL
• Experience with distributed applications.
• Service Oriented development, particularly REST/XML-over-HTTP/JSON.
• prefer experience with additional apis/protocols - soap, JAX-RS, etc.
• prefer raw socket communication experience.
• Experience working in a very agile/iterative environment.
• you love using many open source libraries and tools
• prefer experience with Eclipse, SVN, Atlassian tools
• prefer experience in large project development: code branches, merging, etc.
• Experience and comfortable working in a polyglot environment.
• more than one of; java, javascript, xml, ant, sql, unix shell, groovy, scala, etc.
• Strong Object Oriented design skills and design pattern experience.
• Mobile app dev experience is a plus
• Must have solid analytical skills.
• Able to work very independently within a team.
