SQL DB Designer/Programmer

Duration:  6 months

Location: Tampa, FL

 

 

It is like 20-25% core DBA and rest is data design and modeling. So, in the skills profile given below, rest remains the same. 2 years work experience with SQL Server DB design and maintenance.  Good knowledge of normalization and modeling complex relationships in SQL.  Experience with systems with 250+ tables a plus.

 

Skills Profile

 

Database Design:

 

·         Required: Database design experience including ER diagramming with TOAD or ERWin.

·         Required:  Working knowledge of normalization.

·         Required: Working knowledge of SQL specific data types such as UNIQUEIDENTIFIER, ROWVERSION and HIERARCHYID.

·         Required: Ability to reverse engineer non-SQL legacy databases (such as Paradox).

·         Desired: Working knowledge of Visual Studio Team System Database projects for version control and deployment.

Database Programming:

 

          Required: Use of stored procedures, common table expressions (CTEs) and functions.

          Required: Working knowledge of T-SQL scripting.

 

Database Administration:

 

·         Required: Working knowledge of SQL Server 2008.      

·         Required: Working knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio.

Software Programming:

 

·         Required: Basic knowledge of .NET programming using C#.

·         Desired: Working knowledge of .NET System. Data programming models.

·         Desired: Working knowledge of SQL Server Management Objects (SMO).

·         Desired: Working knowledge of Entity Framework or LINQ to SQL.
