Business Objects Developer

Relevant Experience (Yrs)

5+ years

Technical/Functional Skills

·         Strong knowledge of database and datawarehousing concepts (preferably in Oracle)

·         BO Universe development experience (5+ years)

·         Webi report development experience (5+ years); and ability to work effectively with BO XI server

·         Familiarity with BO Admin features and ability to conceptualize user security and maintenance

·         Extensive experience in implementing Crystal XCelsius – dashboard development; integration with SAP BW InfoProviders, Enterprise Portals, Live Office, QaaWS etc.; Custom components

·         Ability to conceptualize and deliver What If Analysis, Dynamic Visibility, Hierarchies, Interactive Charts and other features

·         Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL and DML tools

·         Ability to compare and contrast multiple UI tools and their features

·         Proven implementation and problem-solving experience – including troubleshooting, performance tuning and resolving connectivity issue

Total Experience Required

·         5-7 years of experience in developing Business Intelligence solutions

·         7-10 years of experience in application development and deployment

Roles & Responsibilities

·         Lead the design and delivery of high-performance, low-maintenance and user-friendly customer interface

·         Design and develop Datawarehousing and Business Intelligence solutions in a dynamic environment

·         Provide strategic consulting to business groups on Datawarehousing and Business Intelligence

·         Provide thought leadership and innovative approach to delivery of user interface solutions

·         Lead the introduction of new tools and features in the user interface

·         Set the strategy for tool selection, feature selection and upgrades

·         Understand the current and future state of SAP-BW and Business Objects suite of products; provide the right solutions

·         Engage with multiple user groups and gather analytics and reporting requirements

·         Define technical requirements for new reporting solutions and expanded analytics

·         Manage Developers and Analysts in delivering reports, dashboards and other analytical tools for user groups

·         Implement the appropriate administration features, including security and access control, promotions and upgrades

·         Integrate quality practices in all aspects of technology delivery; audit work products to ensure quality and sustainability

·         Manage project tasks effectively and provide active support to project managers in estimation, risk management and issue resolution

·         Follow project timelines of interfaces; communicate requirements to interface teams effectively

·         Maintain appropriate documentation, traceability and configurations; follow record retention policies

·         Execute tasks in all phases of SDLC

·         Strong communication and inter-personal skills; ability to work effectively with offsite and offshore teams

·         Ability to lead team of report developers

·         Ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple IT and user groups

Education

Bachelor's / Master's  degree in Computer Science, Business or comparable field
