MySQL DBA

Location: Mountain View, CA

Duration: 6 months

Start Date: ASAP

Requirements:

·         BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline

·         Minimum of 5 years administering MySQL Server in a mission critical environment

·         Expert at troubleshooting MySQL related issues (lock contention, high load, slow queries, performance, etc) and identifying root causes

·         Experience with Nagios, Ganglia, Cacti and/or other tools such as CA Spectrum and Wily Introscope

·         Ability to script using Bash/Perl/Python to automate database activities

·         Proficient with the CLI and a working understanding with CentOS/RHEL

·         Experience administering large InnoDB tables

 

Nice to haves:

·         Experience working with MySQL replication across WANs

·         Experience working with MySQL on shared network storage

·         Experience with Percona Server and working with XtraDB storage engine

·         Experience with CentOS/RHEL systems administration

·         Experience with Puppet, CFEngine or Chef.
