Cognos BI Lead

Responsibilities:
The project leader's primary scope is to
- Lead all phases of projects from design to implementation including specifications, development, testing, implementation, and rollout
- Serve as the BI architect for all new business intelligence solutions.
- Be proficient in Cognos v8.x and Cognos Planning
- Make recommendations for continuous improvements to BI reporting infrastructure and processes.
- Work in conjunction with the central team in Paris in developing and implementing BI solutions
- Maintain consistency with the Business intelligence roadmap
- Work with external vendors on providing solutions that are consistent with our standards.
- Provide support for existing reporting applications
- Provide a secure and efficient operations environment
The project leader must have a thorough understanding of data warehousing / business intelligence applications and tools, systems development life cycle, and project management.
Skills:
q 3-5 years of progressively increasing responsibilities in Business Intelligence and Reporting Solutions
q 8+ years IT experience
q Bachelor degree or equivalent in computer science or math related field
q Knowledge of BI tools: Cognos v8.x , Cognos Planning , Oracle , Windows
q Knowledge of ControlM
q Strong project management skills highly preferred
q Proficiency in all aspects of business analysis : analytical, synthetic and conceptualization skills(1)
q Excellent written and oral communication skills (1)
q Ability to manage several projects simultaneously and assess priorities (1)
q Ability to work with little supervision and report accordingly (1)
q Strong employee relationships and interpersonal skills (1)
q Ability and desire to thrive in a high-pressure, client-services environment
q Strong organizational and excellent multi-tasking skills (2)--
