Position: SQL Solution Engineer/ Architect

Location: Redmond, WA

Duration: 5 Months Contract

Responsibilities

Technical Skills

•                     General architecture

•                     Designing infrastructure for large-scale high-performance systems

•                     Interpreting business requirements into functional and then technical requirements

•                     Application infrastructure components – load balancing, clustering, performance testing, networking, security

•                     Proficient in backups, monitoring, configuration management, and change management concepts

•                     Microsoft SQL Server technologies: Infrastructure and security design for the following -

•                     SQL Server core database engine

•                     SQL Server Integration Services

•                     SQL Server Analysis Services

•                     SQL Server Reporting Services, and

•                     Familiarity with SQL Server management tools

•                     Microsoft SharePoint Server technologies:

•                     SharePoint 2010 architecture

•                     SharePoint Business Intelligence Insights  and integration with SQL Server Reporting Services and Analysis Services, PowerPivot

•                     Desired

•                     General DBMS experience

•                     Oracle, DB2 or MySQL

•                     Microsoft SQL Server technologies:

•                     Data warehousing concepts

•                     Implementing ETL Tools, SSIS, Informatica

•                     SQL Server 2012

•                     Familiarity in IT Operations frameworks  (MS MOF, ITIL)

•                     Knowledgeable with Database appliance solutions

Non-Technical Skills

•                     Business Engagement:

•                     Demonstrated experience…

•                     Providing thought leadership and business strategy acumen around infrastructure solutions for business-critical applications

•                     Leading customers through a value-based decision making cycle

•                     Developing functional, non-functional and technical requirements based on business imperatives

•                     Presenting to customer executive teams with authority and purpose

•                     Developing written documentation of design, build and operations tasks

•                     Methodical and good personnel skills

•                     Project Leadership:

•                     Demonstrated experience…

•                     Directing system engineers and technicians in the execution of project tasks

•                     Leading consultants in various project work streams

•                     Estimating, planning and executing infrastructure solutions

Minimum Qualifications

•                     10+ years of IT industry experience

•                     3+ years of consulting experience

•                     5+ years of designing and implementing infrastructure architecture experience

•                     2+ years technical team leadership or management experience

•                     Ability to travel to customer locations in US and Canada

•                     Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related field
