Senior MS SQL/SSRS Consultant with DBA exp
Norfolk Southern
Rate : Open (Market)
Duration : 6+ months
Location: Atlanta, GA
Education: BS in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or related field
Skills – Required:
· 3+ years experience as a hands-on DBA in the MS SQL Server Environment.
· 5+ years of SSRS hands-on experience, MS Certification Desired.
· 5+ years Data Modeling/Architecture Experience
· Exhibit strong data analysis skills
· Experience converting reports from MS Access.
· Presentation layer experience (front end).
· Strong reporting and dash boarding experience.
Skills – Preferred:
· Experience converting reports from Crystal Reports.
Responsibilities:
This position provides the opportunity implement a SQL Server Reporting Services solution for a Railroad Dispatching Decision Support System. This system will allow users to more easily access data they need to make better business decisions.
Major responsibilities are as follows:
· Convert existing MS Access Reports to SSRS. (Approximately 50 to 60)
- Create schedules jobs for each report, as needed.
- Implement alerting upon failures using passport.
· Analyze existing data model to make recommendations for improvements (if any).
· Define and create metadata to be used for future report development.
