Position Description:

We have an opening for 2 Sr. Basis Consultants.

One of the consultants must be able to speak German to interface with the team in Germany.

Must have worked on a DB2 environment.

 

Essential Functions: 

Oversee the SAP Basis, Middleware, and Database operational tasks while working closely together with a Service Provider.  Assist in solving incidents as a second or third level support position.  Identify and solve ongoing problems by developing problem definition(s), analyze symptoms and problems, design and propose alternative solutions, and present them for management decisions.  Plan and coordinate changes to the system with business partners.  Plan and coordinate preventative maintenance together with the Service Provider and business partners.

Provide input to the design of new systems and changes to existing systems so as to achieve optimal integration of systems, as well as a good balance between business process designs, the capabilities/limitations of information technology, and operational requirements.

Participate in conferences with potential and existing users of IT services to resolve problems regarding systems, operating procedures, need for data, and results desired.

Analyze and evaluate results of system testing, benchmarks, and evaluations to determine if system/data meets the needs of the business.

Assist with development and implementation of disaster recovery and business resumption processes and procedures.

Perform other related duties as required.

Marginal Functions: (List responsibilities which are not essential, but may be required)

Conduct / assure adequate user training as required with major system enhancements.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering or other related area or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

Experience:

8 or more years working in area of SAP Basis or equivalent.

Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc.: Strong computer systems skills; Well developed analytical skills and sound business judgment. Highly effective intercultural and social communication skills.

Able to think strategically and establish direction; willing to share knowledge and experience; able to lead change.

SAP Basis, Unix operating systems, Windows operating systems, Oracle Database

Preferred Skills:  MQ Series experience strongly preferred, German language skills, Other database knowledge, computer hardware and architecture knowledge
