Role:-SharePoint Administrator
Location:- West Trenton, NJ
Duration:- 6 – 12 Months
The primary function of this position is installing and administering Microsoft SharePoint Services. The candidate will design, build, administer and manage the servers and computing infrastructure supporting enterprise SharePoint farms in a highly available SharePoint environment, and will ensure that the platform adequately supports all planned projects and daily operations.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience plus at least five years of SharePoint Admin experience and 5 years of IT experience
• Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)/Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS) with a focus on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server
Required Skills and Experience
• Ability to administer SharePoint to include installing and configuring medium web farm topology and design/deploy/secure/administer the current and future multiple SharePoint farms
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS environment with a background in SQL Server 2005 and above
• Practical experience in creating and running Disaster Recovery and backup strategies for SharePoint
• Demonstrated experience with the following Microsoft products:
? SharePoint 3.0 Central Administrator
? Structured Query Language (SQL)
? SQL Server 2005 and above
? Microsoft Windows (server and desktop OS)
? Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007
• Demonstrated experience with the following items:
? Disk Operating System (DOS) commands
? SYSADM commands
? Web farms topology (e.g. web front-end, index servers, database servers, load balancer)
• Experience with one or more of the following items:
? Maintaining and administering Windows Server 2003
? Active Directory and Group Policy
? Ability to troubleshoot Windows
• Understanding of Web 2.0 Collaboration; Information Sharing and Knowledge Management
• Technical competence in the following Web environments is a big plus: IIS, IBM Websphere, SharePoint Portal
• A solid understanding of Windows foundations and framework strongly preferred
• Knowledge of best practices in Web systems including security, performance, standards, procedures, controls, and Web technical design and architecture
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and management skills.
• Previous SharePoint software development experience would be useful, but most of the work is on the server administration side.
Primary Responsibilities
• Design/Implement/Manage SharePoint backend infrastructure
• Perform post-installation SharePoint configuration
• Apply patches, service packs, and infrastructure updates
• Modify SharePoint configuration, as needed, to support enhancements and integration with other applications, such as SSRS
• Configure and execute SharePoint and SQL Server backup/recovery process
• Coordinate with the network and server administrators and the DBA(s) to ensure the health of the environment remains stable and operational
• Create, configure, and maintain Shared Service Providers to enable and enhance site search functionality, including search server
• Troubleshoot, track incidents/problems, work with clients for resolution
• Conduct investigations and tests of complex software systems to enhance performance or investigate and resolve technical issues
• Assist with problem resolution and root cause analysis of issues
• Support operating system migration efforts
• Create technical specifications and support documentation
• Providing first line technical support to the development team
• Maintain vendor relationship and act as a point of contact for all SharePoint support calls with Microsoft
• Address the technical questions/needs of management, technical staff, and the SharePoint end-user community in a timely and professional manner
• Follow project management / lifecycle development processes and procedures
• Use industry best practices, with particular strengths in managing web services or technologies
• Research, test, and recommend hardware/software enhancements to existing topology and configuration that improves systems reliability, availability.
