Job Title: Oracle DBA/Developer

Location: Midtown, NYC

Duration: 12+ Months

Interview: Face 2 Face Must after Phone Screen

Candidate Local to NY, NJ, and PA preferred

 

Job Description:

 

The candidate must have extensive background in Oracle. This role requires a mix of DBA and developer skills. The candidate will participate in all phases of project including analysis, design, development, testing and deployment. The candidate will work closely with the Application development teams and provide DBA support. Excellent communication skills, organization skills, critical thinking skills are a must. Prior experience in Media/Entertainment industry is preferred. This position is based in the NY Metro area.

 

 Daily Tasks:     

 

•             Prepare development databases for project implementation.

•             Create schemas or initiate database object changes in consultation with application project

               Teams necessary to implement database design.

•             Participate in database design / PL/SQL code reviews for projects and enhancements.

•             Process requests quickly and be organized on which scripts are running on which environments.

•             Work with application development teams on support issues.

•             Work in a team environment and be proactive.

•             Able to multi-task on different projects and handle multiple requests simultaneously.

•             Able to document process flows and communicate with other team members.

•             Resolve SQL performance and data issues as necessary.

•             Follow existing processes and procedures.

•             Perform SQL tuning and system performance tuning.

•             Develop and modify existing UNIX shell scripts.

 

Qualifications:

 

•             Minimum 7 years of IT industry experience with strong Backend Oracle Development experience

•             Strong Schema Management experience

•             Strong export/import experience or Data pump

•             Experience with Materialized views, External Tables and index/table partition

•             Strong development experience using sql and plsql.  

•             Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

•             Experience with Oracle 11g databases and feature set.

•             Have knowledge and experience in creating logical and physical Data Modeling.  

•             Able to understand object oriented design.

•             Good knowledge of Unix Shell Scripting.

•             Understanding of data marts and warehousing concepts.

•             Experience with Oracle Replication, Data guard setup is a plus.

•             Familiarity with issue tracking tools such as JIRA is a plus.

•             Familiarity with job scheduling tools, such as TIDAL is a plus.

•             Experience in using source control systems like CVS is plus.

•             Experience with SQL server is a plus.
