Position: Oracle Apps DBA
Location: Pleasanton, CA
Duration: Long Term
Qualifications:
· BS/BA in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related degree.
· Oracle 11g Certified.
· 5+ years of relevant Oracle database administration experience handling 4- 70+ TB databases.
· Experience in using OEM, Grid Control or other related monitoring tool.
· Experience in database design, Application Development, SQL tuning, and performance analysis of large databases.
· Experience with Linux (OEL, Redhat and SUSE) and Unix AIX.
· Demonstrated skills working with Application Servers (ATG Dynamo, Websphere or Weblogic preferred).
· Experience with ETL Solutions (Datastage, Informatica) and BI Tools (MicroStrategy preferred) is a must.
· Must be able to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks (at any layer) on the server supporting the database including identifying SQL performance issues.
· Candidates must have good understanding of Join methods, data access path, and trace gathering.
· Experience in backup and recovery design using Netbackup with large databases
· Must be able to install and configure Oracle Databases using RAC and other tools and utilities (DataGuard, Grid Control and Oracle Streams)
· 3+ years experience with direct development support. Must be able to write and run code using SQL or PL/SQL.
· Results oriented, willing to take responsibility and accept accountability for action.
· Experience with a second DBMS (especially UDB) is highly desirable.
· Strong understanding of ITIL service support and service delivery
· Strong communication and leadership skills with the demonstrated ability to lead and influence technical professionals across the enterprise.
· Comfortable with ambiguity as needs change on a regular basis with a high degree of initiative and sense of urgency.
· Candidates must have good understanding of Join methods, data access path, and trace gathering.

· Ability to work on multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously.
