Position : Sr.Data Warehouse Engineer_SQL/SSIS developer
Location : Campbell CA
Duration : 1+year contract
Description
We seek a senior member of the team focused on designing and implementing new aspects of our enterprise data warehouse.
The successful candidate will be skilled in drawing technical components out of the business requirements; integrating those components into Operational Data Store structures; and migrating them to the appropriate Data Mart.
The Senior Data Warehouse Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining ETL processes that power our customer-facing Web Analytics and Business Operations Performance Data Warehouse.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Implement changes or additions to the data warehouse environment
Write and/or modify SSIS packages, SSRS reports and report models, and SSAS cubes as necessary
Design and direct the ETL processes, including data quality and testing
Define technical requirements for the data warehouse and data marts
Define and direct the implementation of security requirements
Define data capture methodologies
Define and design production release procedures
Own project development estimates and timelines
Data Warehouse design and Performance tuning to support ETL processes and data analytics applications
Knowledge of any commercially available data modeling tool Ensure that database design fulfills functional and technical requirements.Review the deliverables throughout development to ensure quality to requirements and adherence to all quality management plans and standards
Education, Skills and Experience:
Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university required
Advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Statistics.
Preferred At least 8 years of experience designing and maintaining large Database and Warehousing environments (over 5 Terabytes)
Strong ETL and data modeling experience, especially with star schema design
Strong SQL and analytical skills Strong experience with Microsoft
Business Intelligence Stack (SSRS,SSAS and SSIS) and/or MicroStrategy 9
Experience designing and supporting Data Warehouses utilizing
Microsoft SQL Server 2005/ 2008Experience designing relational and multi-dimensional models
Significant skill and experience in requirements definition and analysis Significant skill in source data discovery Significant skill in data anomaly identification/resolution Strong problem solving and analytical skills Quick learner, eager to leverage new technologies in a dynamic team environment Able to balance and prioritize multiple concurrent projects effectively Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
Demonstrated ability to work well independently and within a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.Demonstrated ability to generate innovative solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Naturally curious, goal driven, and self-motivated
Experience in C# / .Net is plus
