Position: WebLogic Administrator
Location: Thousand Oaks, CA
Duration: 6 months +
Interview: Phone and/or Skype (no F2F)
1. Base Operational Experience
- Strong knowledge in Provisioning of WebLogic, Web Server, Setting of JDBC, JMS, Identity Asserters, Clustering, Node Manager Setup.
- Ability to script above mentioned activities fully or partially
- Experience in setting up of monitoring via tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, Wily or other tools. Should be knowledgeable on how pro-active monitoring can be defined.
- Good understanding of Single Sign On, SSL, their working and setups
- Strong working knowledge of UNIX, Shell Scripting
- Should have prior experience in patching
- Should have worked on WebLogic 8.x, 9.x, 10.x, 11.x, Apache 2.x, iPlanet Web Server 6/7
2. Troubleshooting or Optimization
- Strong knowledge of various optimization techniques in WebLogic. Should have an understanding of various methods of optimizing JDBC, JMS, Memory tuning.
- Good knowledge in Java to go through thread dumps, exceptions etc.
- Good knowledge of various profiling tools
- Demonstrated ability/experience of looking at various application issues, and be able to make exact & implementable recommendations to mitigate or solve the issues.
- Be able to look at various processes and be creative to solve/enhance them via automation
3. Languages & Other technologies
- Good understanding of WLST, Shell Scripting, Jython, Perl & Java
- Plus to have is familiarity WebLogic 12c, Oracle HTTP Server, iPlanet Web Server 7, OEM 12c
- Plus to have is familiarity with ANT, Maven, and Deployment or Continuous Build Integration tools
- Plus to have - Experience with automated functionality, stress, and/or load testing tools (ex: Selenium, Load Runner, and Quick Test Pro)
- Plus to have - Experience with HP Quality Center
4. Process & Mentoring
- Be able to look at requirements from various application and drive them to defined standards. Be creative in doing so.
- Should be able to look at various processes, and suggest on how they can be made efficient or automated
- Should have good experience with documenting. Plus to have Use of collaboration tools in past
