We need a Senior Teradata DBA

Location: Durham NC

Duration: 12 Months

 

Description:

Requirement Details:

 

Provide Database Administration support for very large relational Teradata databases.

Create, maintain, and support Teradata architectural environment

Physical database design

Administration of production objects in change control environment

Development of pro-active processes for monitoring capacity and performance

Perform system level and application level tuning

Support the application development teams for database needs and guidance

Perform backup and recovery operations

Support of production processes

Support of end user queries

Database security administration

On-call support

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Management or related technical disciplines

Excellent personal communication, leadership and organizational skills

Team Player

6+ years experiences as a Teradata Database Administrator handling 15+ TB data environment

Very strong in database design, tuning, and trouble shooting

Solid in the transition of the logical data models to physical data models using Er-Win or equivalent data modeling tools.

Very familiar with BTEQ, TPUMP and QueryMan tools

Experiences in backup and restore (BAR) design and implementation using Veratis and Storage Tek

Very familiar with Unix Scripting languages

Very familiar with MVS TSO and ISPF

Experiences in Disaster Recovery exercises

Preferred:

3+ years experiences of Physical Data Modeling using ErWin

1+ year experience in Unix Environment, familiar with Unix Scripting

3+ years leadership experiences as team lead or manager

3+ years experiences as Programmer/System Analyst

Recommended Certifications:

Teradata Advanced Certified Professional

Teradata Certified Administrator

Teradata Master
