Title:DB2DBA

9+ month contract in Jacksonville, FL.

 

•             Maintenance of operational databases and the data warehouse, including performance tuning, overseeing backups, and creating scripts for task automation.

•             Participates in the investigation, analysis and resolution of database problems.

•             Follows standard incident, problem, and change management processes.

•             Ensures the development of a database backup and recovery scheme and the development and implementation of disaster recovery procedures.

•             Participates in disaster recovery design, testing and execution.

•             Monitors and evaluates database performance and adjust database configuration appropriately.

•             Provides subject matter expertise to corporate projects and initiatives.

•             Works with DA and user to understand requirements for a physical database design.

•             Provides database consulting expertise to corporate projects and initiatives applying PMM and development life cycle concepts.

•             Provides partnering and database consulting expertise to developers for analyzing and coding database solutions and efficiencies.

 

*7+ years demonstrated experience as a Database Administrator on the targeted operating system platform (zOS and LINUX, UNIX, or AIX)

*Demonstrated experience with hardware architecture (Intel Servers, IBM pSeries, IBM zSeries)

*Demonstrated experience using/supporting operating systems (zOS, LINUX, UNIX, AIX) including advanced scripting

*Knowledge of third party database tools (SQL, Toad, Data Studio, or Quest Central for DB2)

*Knowledge of performance monitoring tools (IBM OPM, Omegamon for DB2, IBM Query Monitor )

*Knowledge of backup and recovery concepts 

*Knowledge of data partitioning and clustering (hash, range, and multi cluster) 

*Project Management Methodology

*Demonstrated experience in SQL programming

*Demonstrated experience in Database environment and SQL performance tuning

*Demonstrated experience in using/supporting relational and hierarchal databases (IBM DB2 and IMS)

*Demonstrated experience in multi-dimensional modeling

*Understanding of n-tier application architecture.
