Position: Network Administrator

Location: Boston, Massachusetts

Start: 1-2 weeks

Duration: 6 months (Contract to Hire)

Description:

Network Administrator to assists with planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems (including wireless) of moderate complexity. Participates in network planning, network architecture, design and engineering. Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations. Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards. Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning and makes recommendations for improvement. As a member of a team of network engineers, provides 24 hour support for a large enterprise network, responding to outages and troubleshooting in a timely fashion. Follows corporate standards for incident and change management.

Required Skills:

Ø  3+ years experience with (as many as possible):

o   TCP/IP networking

o   Cisco routers and Cisco switches

o   Cisco GSS and CSS, Cisco terminal servers,

o   Cisco WaaS, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, MPLS, PoS, ATM, Frame Relay and SONET,

o   QoS, STP, Layer 2 and Layer3 VLAN and port configuration, Switch Trunking, HSRP, Access-Lists, Protocol analyzers (Wireshark and Sniffer), 802.11x Wifi Wireless Networking, Amigopod, Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Checkpoint, Cisco ACE loadbalancer.

Ø  3+ year's Experience with Network Operations Control

Ø  Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)

Ø  Experience with Remedy/ITSM

Ø  On-call support required
