Oracle and SQL DBA
New York
6+ months contract
Position Summary:This position will be responsible for the Oracle and SQL server database administration and is integral to the firm's current and future operations, and will require coordination with the firm's business and technical management. Detailed hands-on Oracle administration and SQL server administration skills are required. The firm is currently processing on Oracle 11g and SQL server 2008 platforms on Windows operating system to support various applications.

Job Requirements
Installation, configuration and upgrading of Oracle server software and related products
Evaluate Oracle and SQL server features and Oracle and SQL server related products
Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles, assign privileges)
Perform database tuning and performance monitoring
Perform application tuning and performance monitoring
Setup and maintain documentation and standards
Plan growth and changes (capacity planning)
Perform general technical trouble shooting and give consultation to development teams
Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
Patch Management and Version Control
Participate in off hour support
Experience Required:
Technical:
3 – 5 years supporting Oracle and SQL server databases
Oracle 10g administration: Oracle installation, Instance creation, schema management,backup/recovery procedures, system tuning/performance, multi-environment management, PL/SSQL, Clustering and Data Guard.
SQL server administration: SQL server installation, patching, Instance creation, schema management, backup/recovery procedures, Analysis, Integration and Reporting services and SQL server clustering
