Position:              Technical Lead (ETL)

Location:             Pleasanton, CA

Duration:             6- 9 months.

Description:

This job requires handing the end-to-end software development lifecycle process for Development/Changes to various application modules within ETL/Data stage stream for the project. This involves estimating the effort required for the requested development, planning, executing and implementing the change to Production. The role requires having core expertise in Data stage, ETL, Teradata, ESP and UNIX technologies as well as database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server. Also the job demands in-depth specialized knowledge of the Retail domain and most importantly, the backend systems in Retail Domain as desirable.

Responsibilities:

·         Use of independent judgment and discretion to analyze computer system capabilities

·         Prepare detailed description of customer requirements, program functions and steps required to develop or modify computer program

·         Mentor Software Developers in the team to complete the unit of work assigned to them and monitor the output

·         Provide technical training  to the team

·         Perform and support System testing and UAT testing

·         Perform Status Reporting to Client and Internal

·         Provide Technical inputs, Design Inputs  as and when required

·         Identify and report risks and issues

·         Maintain oversight on offshore team members for the track

·         Play the role of an SME in Retail domain

·         Perform other duties as assigned or requested

·         Collaborate with Data Warehouse ,DBA, Automation and Testing(functional/performance) team as required

·         Need to be present at the office 5 days a week in person for better collaboration with various client IT teams

·         Collaborate with other onsite designers, Software Architect and Business Analysts to ensure the completeness of all DataStage Requirements

·         Clarify requirements for the scope identified

·         Lead the Offshore DataStage team

·         Represent the Offshore DataStage team in daily scrum meetings

·         Timely communication of risks/issues on the DataStage side

·         Co-ordinate meetings with Client technical leads, project teams and other support groups for requirements/issue clarifications

Experience/Qualifications/Competencies:

·         Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably Computer Science and Engineering)

·         9 to 10 years of experience in Datastage/ETL Development, Implementation and leading the Datastage or backend track for the project.

·         In depth knowledge of SDLC methodologies.

·         Experience working with teams which are positioned in multiple geographical time zones.

·         The candidate has good exposure in  working with Windows and UNIX platforms

·         Good knowledge in DataStage, CHANGEMAN, ESP, Control-M, Essbase

·         Strong exposure in using Oracle, Teradata, Netezza,  SQL Server

·         Expertise in HTML, MS-EXCEL, SharePoint, PM4Data
