• Detailed knowledge of data content to support data loading in bulk on a regularly basis. This requires a more detailed knowledge of index and table structures to support the regular load intervals
• Detailed knowledge of data content to support ad hoc or analytic queries. Multi-table joins and become familiar with query details to enable reasonable response time.
• Detailed knowledge of large database configurations such as Oracle or Sybase IQ and some experience of database internals as it relates to transactions and user response times.
• Experience with scripting ETL requirements via custom programs and scripts to large databases.
• Experience with detailed knowledge of Billing system data and manipulation techniques for loading and querying large amounts of data.
• Support application and reporting team with data questions, queries and ability for detailed analysis with data.
• Experience with UNIX shell scripting, MS DOS scripting and /or other scripting techniques such as Perl, Python, etc.
• Experience with Linux, UNIX and Windows platforms.
• Experience writing code with SQL, T-SQL and PL/SQL with large databases.
• Experience with job scheduling tools and techniques.
• Experience designing and loading database objects such as stored procedures, triggers and views.
• Experience with source control and maintaining code in development, test and production and creating migration methodologies to promote changes to production.
• Experience with different DW concepts and practical utilization such as special indexes, partitioning, parallel execution.
• Experience with data modeling techniques and tools.
• Experience with OLTP and DW systems.
• Experience with different kinds of data model and appropriate use.
• Experience with supporting a 24X7 DW used for operational and analytical purposes.
• Experience with data mapping, data configuration, building M&P for maintenance and data migration projects, preferably with billing systems migration.
• Experience with documentation and knowledge transfer.
• Able to effectively communicate to team members.
• Ability to compare data, do root cause analysis, troubleshoot issues and answer questions from application developers, report writers and functional areas.
• Preferable experience but not a must with mainframe, i-series platform to understand working and querying with these platforms.
• Preferable experience but not a must with programming language such as C++, Java.
