Job Title: SQL Server with Informatica
Duration: 6+ Months
Location: Seattle, WA

POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for designing, coding, unit testing and implementing high quality software for application programs and systems.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES:

·         Applies approved application development practices for the analysis, design, prototyping, development and unit testing of applications primarily for usage in the Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) functions moving data and metadata into the Data Warehouse

·         Assists with the migration of existing applications from SQL Server to dimensional warehouse environments

·         Manages the extract processes from the dimensional warehouse environments to meet any regulatory requirements

·         Develops and tunes existing data warehouse applications to ensure optimal performance  

·         Designs and codes application programs to meet user business requirement specifications

·         Unit tests application programs, identifies errors in program logic and verifies functionality and compliance with user specifications

·         Works with application development management to prepare estimates on design and development efforts

·         Leads and/or participates in design and code reviews

·         Communicates project status, design and other related issues to the appropriate management

·         Recommends changes in procedures or tools as required

·         Leads and provides technical direction to less experienced programmer/analysts

·         Updates and/or develops documentation for application and/or application development processes and procedures.

·         Encourages and enforces conformance with departmental and organizational standards by other staff

·         Contributes to design and architecture discussions

·         Coordinates the planning and implementation of new applications and features

·         Assigns and monitors work of Application Development staff as required

·         Provides application and operational support to the production operations and help desk teams

·         Works closely with architecture guidelines to ensure compliance with internal technical directives and strategic roadmaps

·         May serve as the Development Lead on Project Team(s)

·         Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

·         Bachelor's degree required in Computer Science, Math or Engineering and 4+ years of programming experience in custom application analysis, design and development and/or reporting; or 8 years of programming experience

Prior Related Experience

·         3+ years Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005

·         3+ years C# (.NET)

·         2+ years UML design experience

·         2+ years Web Services experience

·         2+ years Weblogic and/or Microsoft IIS

·         2+ years Microsoft Office Automation

·         1+ year Window Scripting Host or other scripting language

·         Has developed solutions other than "n-tier" solutions

·         Healthcare experience preferred

Employment Eligibility:

·         Candidate has not been sanctioned or excluded from participation in federal or state healthcare programs by a federal or state law enforcement, regulatory, or licensing agency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

·         Strong technical skills in SSIS

·         Thorough knowledge on relational database concepts, SQL Server and dimensional data models

·         Understanding of how to automate data load processes using SSIS, and/or Informatica, Data Stage, Synopsis/ODI

·         Experience implementing monitoring processes to automate the detection and resolution of loading errors

·         Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Cognos, Business Objects and Brio

·         Strong experience with object-oriented software development methodologies and practices

·         Experience in the use of agile or iterative-type software development lifecycles and techniques.

·         Working knowledge of MS Windows environment

·         Hands on ability to write POC/pseudo code

·         Actively pursues learning and mastering of job skills and requirements

·         Ability to work and communicate with all levels of staff

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Excellent customer service, team player ethic

·         Knowledge of the healthcare industry business transaction processing a plus

·         Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and confidentiality
